VACANCY

There is one vacancy on the accommodations tax committee. Volunteers must work in the hospitality or lodging industry in the town or in Horry County. Submit your 'brief summary of background' to dherrmann@surfsidebeach.org or call Town Clerk Debra Herrmann at 843.913.6333 with questions. See below for more details.


Information

 

Term:  4 years

Duties:  This committee makes recommendations to Town Council regarding the expenditure of revenue generated from the accommodations tax. 

Qualifications: The committee consists of seven members with a majority being selected from the hospitality industry of the municipality or county receiving the revenue. At least two of the hospitality industry members must be from the lodging industry, where applicable. One member shall represent the cultural organizations of the municipality or county receiving the revenue. Town residency is not required. 

Meeting Schedule:  This committee meets the 3rd Wednesday of January each yea at 4:00 p.m., and has other meetings as business dictates.  Meetings are held in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 115 US Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach, SC. This notice is published pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act Section 30-4-80(A) and (E).  The public is invited to attend all meetings and events.
