Due to the Coronavirus, our Surfside Beach Family Festival on October 3rd and the Senior Fair on October 16th have both been canceled.  This decision was made in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order setting restrictions on large groups.  We will miss seeing everyone this year, but hopefully this time next year, we will be back.  As for the final decision on the Halloween Car Show? It will be discussed at our Town Council Meeting next Tuesday, September 22nd.

October will be the last month this year for awarding the Yard-of-the-Month.  The Keep Surfside Beach Beautiful (KSBB) Committee needs your help finding the worthiest yards in town to nominate.  Please submit your nominations by posting an address in the comments section of their Facebook Page or email them at  The deadline for nominations is this Friday, September 18th.

Speaking of which, KSBB is having the next “Beach Sweep” on September 19, 2020, from 9-10 AM.  Bags and gloves will be provided.  Enter a chance to win a Pizza Hyena Gift Certificate.  Please join us as we

work to keep our beaches beautiful….

The Surfside Beach Public Works Facility will accept the following items September 18–20:

Paints, solvents, batteries, gas mixtures, pesticides, oil, herbicides, aerosols, cleaners, corrosive materials, fluorescent bulbs, computers, DVD players, fax machines, printers, monitors, televisions, and VCRs.  Bring these items to the Public Works Facility at 740 Sandy Lane, Surfside Beach, SC between the hours of 9 AM and 1 PM.

I welcome your input. I can be reached at and I will respond…
