As Mayor of the Town of Surfside Beach, I extend a warm welcome to everyone visiting our website and hope it will be helpful as you learn more about our town.
Since our incorporation in 1964, we have grown from a population of 881 to more than 4,100. Our town has a proud past and a bright future. We are a progressive community that maintains a small-town, laid-back, child-friendly environment where improving our citizens' quality of life is always a top priority.
We offer a wide variety of services including police, fire, public works, planning, building and zoning, year-round recreational classes and planned events. Surfside Beach is the first town in the United States to become an "Autism Friendly" travel destination.
Nestled in the heart of the South Carolina Grand Strand area, we offer two miles of pristine beach, scenic parks, a large modern branch of Horry County Library, surfing, water park, miniature golf, shopping, restaurants, amusements and much more. The town-owned pier offers bottom and float fishing or just take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the view of the beach and Atlantic Ocean at sunrise or sunset.
Whether you plan to make the Town of Surfside Beach your new home or are here to visit, I am sure you'll find you made the right choice.
I look forward to seeing you in the Town of Surfside Beach, "The Family Beach," where residents, investment property owners, businesses and visitors are FAMILY.
