2022 Barbecue Festival

Thousands showed up for the 12th Annual Surfside Beach Barbecue Festival. The event, which took place on March 26, had been rescheduled from earlier in the month due to severe weather.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of barbecue dishes from 6 different barbecue vendors. More than 50 additional craft and food vendors lined Surfside Drive, selling everything from wreaths to rings, and pies to pudding.

Music was performed by the Rich Johnson Band and the Shawn Bilton Band. Children enjoyed a giant bounce house and inflatable slide.

Congratulations to this year's Barbecue Festival winners. This year's winners were determined by a panel of 5 judges from local television and radio stations. The judges awarded 3rd Place to Pop Pop's Pit BBQ, 2nd Place to Coastal BBQ, and 1st Place to Smoking Down South.

A big thank you to our judges, Rachel Bogle, WMBF; Ron "Crash" Kissell, WKZQ; Beth Simmons, Wave 104.1; and Manny Martinez and Melissa Myers from WBTW.
