Where: Surfside Beach Fire Department

Surfside Beach, SC 29575
Surfside Beach Fire Department would like to invite members of the community to an informative outreach program that relates to medical emergencies. We will cover topics including but not limited to first aid, CPR, beach safety, recognizing emergencies and cover national programs like “Stop the Bleed”.
In the first session we would like to present a program that describes generalized information.
We are calling it The First Five Minutes.
The itinerary will include recognizing major medical problems like Stroke and Heart Attacks.
Calling 911 and how this information is vital to the outcome of an emergency.
Being prepared for the ambulance crew when they arrive with any necessary demographic information and what type of questions we might ask and sometimes why a fire engine responds to certain calls.
And mostly being calm under pressure.
The program will start at 9 am and we will have light refreshments for all participating.
We will also include some handouts and information from Vial of Life.
If you are interested please RSVP my email firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to Covid restrictions we will take the first 15 people to sign up. However if you do not get in don’t be alarmed we will be repeating this session in the future so that everyone can have a chance to attend.
