Pier Construction

PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE: Please help us by sharing this important information! As pier construction ramps up, there are lots of cool things to see! We are asking for the community's assistance by being safe and staying back away from the construction site. The crews will be moving large pieces of heavy steel. Additionally, the tides are creating large, deep pools around the structure that could be life-threatening, especially to children. We know it's inconvenient when trying to walk the beach, but please walk around the site onto Ocean Blvd. It is not safe to walk through the site, even when no construction is taking place. Please watch from a distance and do not go beyond the construction fencing and/or approach these structures. Our goal is to be safe and we look forward to having a pier that is as awesome as this community!

Medical Community Outreach

Sponsored by: Surfside Beach Fire Department

When: April 24, 2021

Where: Surfside Beach Fire Department

              115 U.S. Hwy 17 North

              Surfside Beach, SC 29575

              Training Room

Surfside Beach Fire Department would like to invite members of the community to an informative outreach program that relates to medical emergencies. We will cover topics including but not limited to first aid, CPR, beach safety, recognizing emergencies and cover national programs like “Stop the Bleed”.

In the first session we would like to present a program that describes generalized information.

We are calling it The First Five Minutes.

The itinerary will include recognizing major medical problems like Stroke and Heart Attacks.

Calling 911 and how this information is vital to the outcome of an emergency.

Being prepared for the ambulance crew when they arrive with any necessary demographic information and what type of questions we might ask and sometimes why a fire engine responds to certain calls.

And mostly being calm under pressure.

The program will start at 9 am and we will have light refreshments for all participating.

We will also include some handouts and information from Vial of Life.

If you are interested please RSVP my email Due to Covid restrictions we will take the first 15 people to sign up. However if you do not get in don’t be alarmed we will be repeating this session in the future so that everyone can have a chance to attend.

Thank You

Captain Jeffery A Gore

No Sunrise Service

The Methodist Church

Good afternoon Surfside,

The Methodist Church will not be holding a sunrise service this year.

They do not want to promote large crowds.

At this time we do not have any other Church offering this service.
