August 26, 2022
We are starting to line up many town events over the coming months. Mark your calendars!
The nominations for September’s Yard-of-the Month have been announced. The nominees include #1: 220 Yaupon Dr. North; #2: 416 1st Ave North; and #3: 1011 Cedar Dr. North.
Voting is via KSBB Facebook or email KeepSurfsideBeachBeautiful@gmail.com, which ends at midnight on August 30th. Good luck to all.
Once again on Sunday, August 28, starting at 4 p.m. in Memorial Park, Music in the Park will feature “RETROGRADE.” I think I jinxed it last week because the rain came instead – all day long. Let’s hope the weather is better this time. Bring a chair and enjoy the time with your neighbors and visitors
Our “Employee Appreciation Event” on September 7th will be in Memorial Park after their lunch hour. Come meet and greet with all the folks that help make Surfside Beach a wonderful place to live and the reason why we love it here. This will be the best time for residents and guests to show their support and gratitude.
The next Beach Sweep is scheduled for September 17. This event is in conjunction with the statewide 33rd Annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep event. Beach Sweep/River Sweep is South Carolina's largest volunteer litter-cleanup event on the state's waterways.
KSBB will coordinate with other jurisdictions to help report our trash collection data to provide and correlate state statistics. You report for duty from 9 to 10 a.m. at the 3rd Ave N. beach access. Bring your kids, neighbors and friends. Show your support and help us in this effort. Your participation will be rewarded. This is such a good thing!
September 24, is the “Celebrate Surfside Beach” festival from 11 to 3 p.m. Local businesses organize this event. There will be food, drink, music, kid-friendly events and other entertainment, including a dunk tank! The fun takes place on 3rd Avenue South and Poplar Dr. North. Wear comfortable shoes and park safely!
Don’t forget our Fall Festival is fast approaching on October 1, as planning is underway for vendors, committee and town booths, and many other preparations. It will be a great time with plenty of activities for kids, food, music and vendors of all sorts, as well as the town and volunteer committee booths chalked full of information. More details to follow.
BE INFORMED, GET INVOLVED, and HELP BE THE CHANGE!
Thank You
Stay safe and God Bless!
