On Wednesday, September 7, we celebrated the first Surfside Beach Employee Appreciation Day with a luncheon for all the staff at the civic center followed by a reception with music as residents joined in at Memorial Park. Thank you to all of the residents who took the time to come thank these employees for their hard work and dedication. My hat’s off to every one of them.
Sunday, September 11, at 4 p.m. in Memorial Park, Music in the Park will feature the band, “Carolina Soul.” The weather forecast is calling for an 88% chance of rain. I hope I don’t jinx it but we shall see … There are only two more weeks of Music in the Park this season.
On September 16, 17, and 18 the town will hold its second hazardous household waste collection for the year. You can bring items to the Public Works Facility on Sandy Lane here in Surfside Beach. Please be aware that these items are banned from curbside collection. Please do your part to protect our environment by recycling and proper disposal.

KSBB will coordinate with other jurisdictions to help report the trash collection data for state statistics. You report for duty from 9 to 10 a.m. at the 3rd Ave N. beach access. Bring your kids, neighbors and friends. Come show your support and help us in this effort. Your participation will be rewarded. This is such a good thing!

Calling all gardeners to save this date.
