There are three vacancies on the construction board of appeals. If you are interested in serving on this board submit a completed application to townclerk@surfsidebeach.org. Town residency is not required, but you must be licensed in or formerly licensed in a construction trade: contractor, electrician, architect, plumber, etc. For more information, please read below.

Board Information
Term: 4 years
Duties: This statutory board is responsible for hearing and deciding appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official related to the application and interpretation of the International Building Codes and the Town’s Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.
Qualifications: The Construction Board of Appeals is composed of seven (7) members that are appointed by council. The board shall consist of members who are qualified by experience and training in building construction and shall not be employees of the town.
Meeting Schedule: This board does not meet unless required by appeal. Meetings are held in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 115 US Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach, SC, unless otherwise advertised. The public is invited to attend all meetings.
