I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving, with everything going on today, it is a relief to surround yourself with your loved ones and enjoy the company of family and friends.

With all of the holiday preparations and Town Hall being closed on Friday, we were unable to have the “Ground Breaking Ceremony” property listed on the town website. It was also short notice for some of the stakeholders that have assisted the town in our grant from FEMA and planning. It would not be right to exclude anyone from the celebrations. So, with the weather being as bad as it was, the suggestion was made by our new Town Administrator, to postpone the “Ground Breaking” until next Monday, December 7, 2020. The Town will send out invitations to all of the legislators that helped make our pier a success.

While we did postpone the event today, I would like to thank the fifty or so people that showed up today in the bad weather only to be disappointed.A special thanks to Bill Shanahan for coordinating the event next week to ensure that everyone is invited so we all can celebrate our next step to completing our new fishing pier.

Consensus Construction has already fenced off the pier parking lot, moved in their heavy equipment and construction trailer in preparation.
